Brian Ross Yeakley, a Houston based tenor originally from Wichita, Kansas, is honored and thrilled to return to G&S Society Houston as Lord Tolloller! Education: Wichita State University (Bachelors), and University of Houston (Masters and Artist Diploma) under the tutelage of Melanie Sonnenberg. Professional opera company highlights: Wolf Trap Opera, Glimmerglass Opera Festival, Opera Saratoga, Virginia Opera, Austin Opera. Concert performance highlights: Austin Symphony, Valley Symphony Orchestra, Victoria Symphony, Mercury Houston. Yeakley is also founder and CEO of small local opera company Operativo Houston (2016-present)(www.operativohouston.com). Recent performances: Frederic, The Pirates of Penzance, G&S Houston; The Witch/Die Hexe, Wichita Grand Opera; Tenor Soloist, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Sam Houston State University; Mr. Clayton, Stephen Schwartz’ Seance on a Wet Afternoon, Lonestar Lyric Opera.
About Brian Ross Yeakley
Brian Yeakley grew up in the suburbs of Bel Aire in Wichita, Kansas. He attended high school at Wichita North High School. After receiving his diploma, Yeakley began his studies at Wichita State University as a musical theater major and after changing majors, he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Music (Vocal Performance). From this point, he decided to take the next step in his career by attending the University of Houston for his Master's Degree in Applied Music (Opera). Since moving to Houston, Yeakley has had tremendous opportunities to sing with many companies such as Glimmerglass Opera Festival and Wolf Trap Opera Company, even singing with symphonic orchestras such as Mercury Baroque, Austin Symphony, and Jackson Symphony. Yeakley also is an inspired entrepeneur as CEO of Operativo Houston, a company driven to provide more work for the local artist. After recieving tremendous support from his family in Wichita, Yeakley continues to work extremely hard to build a successful operatic stage career, and make the field of performance art more accessible to audience and performers alike.
